Coach Dave has been training in Martial Arts for over 30 years specializing in Muay Thai and Traditional Wing Chun.  He currently trains under Muay Thai legend Kaensak Sor. Ploenjit, a two time fighter of the year two years in a row and one of the best fighters to come out of Thailand. With a fight record of 240 fights with 208 wins.  Kaensak allowed Coach Dave to use his name Sor. Ploenjit for his school name.  


Along with training under Kaensak Coach Dave has had the opportunity to train directly under some of the best and well known fighters in Thailand such as Superbon, Petchtanong, Nong-O, Lerdsilla, Ongjen Topic, and Coach Niko the head Muay Thai instructor at American Top Team in Florida.  Coach Dave has also trained privately for 14 years under Master Keith Mazza who currently holds two title belts in the light heavyweight Kickboxing circuit receiving the level of Provisional Master 2.  

Kaensak Sor. Ploenjit

Kaensak is ranked in the top ten Muay Muay Thai fighters of all time, He ruled the flyweight division during the height of Muay Thai’s Golden Era. Kaensak was a technician in the ring when he fought the late 80s and 90s.

 

Kaensak Sor. Ploenjit  was a fighter that preferred to use intelligence and technique when fighting his opponents.

 

Kaensak started training Muay Thai at 9 years old with his father and he had his first fight when he was 10 years old. He joined the Taputhai camp in his native province of Samut Prakan then moved to the Sor.Ploenjit gym in Bangkok at the age of 15 to start his fighting career. At the age of 18, he became a champion.

Kaensak won many titles in Thailand including Lumpinee and Ratchadamnern titles. 

One of his top fights was when he defeated the great champion Taweesaklek Ploysakdaa.

His fight record is 250 fight with 208 wins, 40 losses and 2 draws

 

In 1990, he became the first fighter to be named Fighter of the Year two years in a row (1989 and 1990) by well known Sport Writers Association of Thailand. This was such an honor and a big deal that he is known as the ‘Two Time Fighter of the Year’.

Kaensak resides in New Jersey and comes to Connecticut to do seminars and private lessons for Coach Dave.   

To this day Kaensak is known as a legend in Thailand and one of the best fighters in the golden era of Muay Thai.

Keith Mazza

Master Keith Mazza Professional Kickboxing Champion

Master Keith Mazza is an undefeated professional Kickboxing Champion and Master of Traditional Wing Chun Kung-Fu.  His accomplishments in the martial arts, self defense and security worlds are incredible.  From fighting in several countries to security detail assignments to body guard work for several celebrities his knowledge is far beyond fathomable. He currently holds two title belts from various organizations of Kickboxing Tournaments.  Coach Dave has been training privately with Master Mazza for 15 years and currently hold the rank of Provisional Master level 2 under Master Mazza.  Master Mazza conducts seminars periodically for Coach Dave.

Justin Trible (Kids Instructor)

Coach Justin, better known as “The Professor,” brings a dynamic mix of experience, energy, and passion to his Muay Thai coaching. An Army veteran with a background in boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai, he trained under former pro boxer Trenice Brown, earned his BJJ blue belt under World IBJJF champion Daniel Beleza, and started his Muay Thai journey at Sit Suphan Muay Thai in Massachusetts. 

Known for his positive attitude and detailed, academic approach to training, Coach Justin’s ability to break down techniques in a fun and engaging way earned him his nickname from Coach Dave Gallo. Whether he’s coaching young athletes or guiding students through the fundamentals, his goal is to build confidence, skill, and a love for the art of eight limbs in everyone who steps onto the mats.  Coach Justin also assists in teaching the teen/adult Muay Thai classes.   He is a great asset to our Muay Thai family and we are happy to have him

 
 
 
 
 
 

Muay Thai
